How to choose between a #4, #5 or #6 rod?

The rod number corresponds to the weight of fly line it is designed to cast. A #4 is ideal for small streams and light flies. A #5 is the most versatile—it’s the best-selling size in the world for good reason. A #6 is suitable for larger rivers and bigger fish. If you're a beginner, start with a #5. What's the difference between your fly lines?

How to choose the right reel size?

The reel size should match your rod’s line weight. A 3/5 reel is suitable for #3 to #5 rods, a 5/7 for #5 to #7 rods, and so on. The balance between the rod and reel is important for casting comfort. Usage Tips

Which size should you choose?
- 3/4: Rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout in small rivers — light weight and precision.
- 5/6: The universal size — trout, bass, landlocked salmon in rivers and lakes. The most recommended size to start with.
- 7/8: Atlantic salmon, large largemouth bass, medium pike. Enough backing for species that run.
- 9/10: Coastal salt water, striped bass, large salmon, musky. The ideal backup for fishing trips.
Maintenance: Rinse with fresh water after every outing, especially in salt or brackish water. Dry before storing in the pouch to maximize its lifespan.
Switching retrieve hand: Remove the spool, move the clicker to the other side, reinstall — 30 seconds, no tools required.
Setting the drag: Start with a light drag and adjust gradually based on the size of your target fish. Always back the drag off completely at the end of the day to preserve the Teflon discs.
